Meu novo hobby/obsessão é revirar o fofíssimo site da Lim Heng Swee, também conhecida como Ilovedoodle.
A artista, que vive na Malásia, diz que seu trabalho começou a partir de uma mania: ficar rabiscando e desenhando.
Ela é tão fofa como seu site e diz que seu sonho é desenhar um sorriso no rosto de todas as pessoas.
No meu ela já conseguiu. =)
The sweet Lim Heng Swee´s website, also known as Ilovedoodle, is my new obsession hobby.
The artist, currently based in Malasya, says that her work started from her passion for doodling.
She is as lovely as her work and announces her wish is to doodle a smile on people´s faces.
She already managed to put a big one in mine. =)

Na semana passada, mostrei fotos de vespas com personalidade e hoje, resolvi mostrar uma seleção de fotos igualmente inspiradoras da irmã mais ecológica, a bicicleta.

Last week I showed some unique vespas around here. Today, I decided to post some photos of vespa´s “cool sista”: the bicicle. Besides being eco-friendly, the bike is human-friendly because it takes you wherever you need to go while forces you to exercise (huh?!) =)

Essa conserva de abobrinha é muito simples de fazer e é uma ótima maneira de preservar os legumes quando eles estão prestes a estragar.
Sabe aqueles dias em que você abre a geladeira seguidamente e olha aquela gaveta de legumes cheia de vegetais que você não agüenta olhar mais? Faça a conserva. Você pode servir para visitas, comer em sanduíches ou até mesmo dar de presente. Lembra da “geléia fake”?
These pickles are really simple to do and are also a great way to preserve/save your vegetables. You probably have experienced one of those days when you open your fridge and feel like running from your vege drawer…so, here is the solution! Spicy Zucchini Pickles. You can offer them to your guests, eat them on a sandwich or anyway you want.
Corte as extremidades da abobrinha e depois corte-as “de comprido” em quatro partes.
Ferva o vinagre, a água, o sal e as especiarias e cozinhe por cinco minutos. Retire do fogo.
Lave e higienize cuidadosamente a jarra que você vai usar, mantedo-a cheia de água quente até que você esteja pronta para usá-la.
Acomode as abobrinhas confortavelmente na jarra.
Insira os dentes de alho dentro e despeje a salmoura quente (mistura que foi fervida anteriormente) sobre as abobrinhas.
Deixe a mistura descansar descoberta até que tenha esfriado, cerca de uma hora.
Cubra e guarde na geladeira.
Essa conserva perdurará por alguns meses.
Trim the ends off zucchini and slice lengthwise into quarters.
Bring vinegar, water, salt and spices to a boil. Simmer for five minutes, then remove from heat.
Thoroughly sanitize and rinse the jar you’ll use and keep it filled with hot water until you’re ready to use it.
Pack the zucchini snugly in the jar. Tuck the garlic cloves in. Pour the hot brine over the squash. Let the jar sit, uncovered, until it has cooled, about an hour. Cover and refrigerate. They should keep for a couple of months, if not longer!

Tran Nguyen é uma artista nascida no Vietnã, criada nos EUA e que atualmente vive em Georgia. Ela é fascinada por temas que envolvem a psique humana e utiliza sua arte como um veículo de terapia, expondo as fantasias/fugas de cada um.
Seu trabalho é criado de uma forma delicada, com leves pinceladas de tinta e, ás vezes, uma fina camada de acrílico no papel.
Este aqui se chama “Magic Worlds & Creatures” (Criaturas e Mundos Mágicos).
Tran Nguyen is a Georgia-based artist. Born in Vietnam and raised in the States, she received a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009. She is fascinated with creating visuals that can be used as a psycho-therapeutic support vehicle, treading the mind’s surreal dreamscape. Her paintings are created with a delicate quality using color pencil and thin glazes of acrylic on paper.
This one is called “Magic Worlds & Creatures”.
